# OpenLIT Enterprise

> Enterprise features for OpenLIT, how to get access to the enterprise build, and how licensing works

OpenLIT is open source under the Apache-2.0 license, and the community edition includes everything you need to observe, evaluate, and secure your AI applications. **OpenLIT Enterprise** adds organisation-wide governance, compliance, and alerting features on top of the same platform.

Pages for enterprise features are marked with an **Enterprise** tag in the sidebar and an **Enterprise feature** note at the top.

## Community and Enterprise

| Capability | Community | Enterprise |
| - | :-: | :-: |

| API keys with full access | ✓ | ✓ |
| [Role-based access control](https://docs.openlit.io/latest/openlit/rbac.md): custom role groups and direct user permissions | | ✓ |

| [Audit logs](https://docs.openlit.io/latest/openlit/audit-logs.md) for organisation, member, role, license, API key, connector, and configuration changes across OpenLIT features | | ✓ |
| [Event alerts](https://docs.openlit.io/latest/openlit/alerts.md#event-alerts) on access, API key, Vault, connector, scanner, and other changes, and notification destinations with message templates for every alert | | ✓ |
| Premium connectors: [Slack, email, webhook, Discord, PagerDuty, Opsgenie, and Datadog notifications](https://docs.openlit.io/latest/openlit/connectors/notification.md); [Datadog and New Relic data sources](https://docs.openlit.io/latest/openlit/connectors/datasource.md#enterprise-data-source-connectors) | | ✓ |
| [GPUs](https://docs.openlit.io/latest/openlit/gpus.md): fleet health, workloads, kernels, errors, cost, and Otter recommendations¹ | | ✓ |

¹ The GPUs page comes with the enterprise build and doesn't need a separate license feature. The community edition collects GPU metrics with the [GPU collector](https://docs.openlit.io/latest/gpu-collector/quickstart.md).

## Get OpenLIT Enterprise

OpenLIT Enterprise is built from a private repository and unlocked with a license for your organisation. To get access to the enterprise build and a license, or to ask about a trial or pricing:

## How licensing works

Enterprise features are licensed per organisation. A license lists the enterprise features it unlocks and is signed, so it can't be modified.

![Organisation Licensing tab with an active enterprise license and the features it unlocks](https://mintcdn.com/openlit/Bq8cTvlOcuilnTTA/images/enterprise/licensing.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=Bq8cTvlOcuilnTTA\&q=85\&s=256e2ff776075c0ff7795ccac83f8e84)

**1. Run the enterprise build**

Deploy OpenLIT Enterprise in place of the community edition. Your existing organisations, projects, and data carry over.

**2. Apply the license**

Open your organisation's settings, go to the **Licensing** tab, and select **Apply enterprise license**. Applying or removing a license needs the organisation owner, or a custom role with the `license:manage` permission.

**3. Use the unlocked features**

Features included in the license unlock immediately for that organisation. Features that aren't licensed stay visible but locked, with an upgrade prompt.

If a license expires or is revoked, its enterprise features lock again. The community features keep working, and your organisations, projects, database configurations, and data stay available. See [license revocation behaviour](https://docs.openlit.io/latest/openlit/rbac.md#license-revocation-behavior) for how RBAC handles this.
